November PTO Newsletter
Hello Carter Families and PTO Supporters,
We had a spooktacular October where we finished out our Glow Run fundraiser and boogied all night at our Second Annual Boo Bash!
The Glow Run Fundraiser ended on October 3rd and after the last of the donations were counted, we raised a grand total of $37,430.00!!! We got donations from all 50 states and 6 countries for a grand total of 1,050 donations! We are blown away with how hard everyone worked and are thrilled to be able to use these funds to enhance the Carter community!
Our Second Annual Boo Bash was another smashing hit and a night to remember for all! After selling out for the second year in a row, we were thrilled to see all the Coyotes come dressed to impress in their very best costumes and dance the night away with friends! Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for their time and help in running the event to make it so successful!
This November, we look forward to a month full of gratitude, community, and giving thanks. With the fall weather finally here, let’s enjoy this season of togetherness and take time to acknowledge and appreciate what a beautiful community we have at Carter Elementary!
Our Second General PTO Meeting of the year will be Friday, November 14 at 7:30am after drop-off in library. These meetings are usually about 30 minutes long and are great to attend to hear what we’ve been up to, what we plan to do, and give you a chance to give your feedback! If you are unable to attend the event, there will be a live Facebook stream and a recap email sent afterward.
Below are some school-wide dates and events to remember and mark your calendars for the month of November:
November 5th: College Day; wear your favorite college jersey

Announcements
Art Supply Donations Needed
Our wonderful and talented Art Teacher, Mrs. Jiang, is needing our help with donations! If you can send in any donations that she is requesting with your child to drop off in the bin outside of the Art Studio, or if you can bring in donations labeled Art Studio and drop it to the front office staff so it can get to her, it would be greatly appreciated. Let’s fill the Art Room with all the supplies needed so we can see our kids’ beautiful artwork brighten up the school and our homes!
Thanksgiving Staff Treats
Every year, families at Carter donate treats for our teachers and staff to take home for Thanksgiving!
These treats may be homemade or store bought. Please don't bring anything that requires refrigeration. One treat should include enough servings for 4-6 people.
Please drop off all treats on Wednesday, November 19 to the front desk of the school. Please do not drop off treats before Wednesday.
If you prefer to make a donation towards the purchase of treats, you can do so here.
Club Invention
Grades 1-5 are invited to sign up for Club Invention’s “Where Big Ideas Become the Next Big Thing” Club: Flight Sight!
The cost is $69 and the club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm-4:30pm on January 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, and 22nd, 2026. *Please note space is limited and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis*
Copy Room Volunteers Needed
Did you know that volunteers help teachers weekly at the school to make copies for their classes? This saves the teachers countless hours and is one of their favorite things the PTO does for them! In order to make this happen, we are in need of copy room volunteers!
If you have worked in the copy room before, use the link below to access our Copy Room Sign Up Genius. If you have not volunteered before, please email volunteers@doncarterpto.com to set-up a brief, easy training to get started!
Spiritwear Store Open All Year
The yearly spiritwear store is open! The shop will remain open all year long so you can order throughout the school year. With the seasons changing, be sure to check out our long sleeved options and sweatshirts!
The store is managed directly by a small, local business, Sugar Land Ink., and orders are made to order and shipped directly to your door. Because of this, all sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges. If you have any questions or concerns regarding spiritwear, please email spiritwear@doncarterpto.com and we will be happy to assist you.
Volunteer of the Month
The PTO could not operate without the time and talents of all of our wonderful volunteers. We appreciate any and all help we can get and we truly have such a wonderful, engaged community. Each month, we would like to take time to recognize a volunteer who has gone above and beyond what is required and truly made a difference by their efforts and time.
Our volunteer of the month for the month of October is a dynamic duo: Sara Richmire-Kint and Kristian Kint! Sara spends most early Friday mornings up at the school running the copy room. Kristian is usually always at Dad’s on Duty in the morning carpool line helping kids get safely in the school, where he then joins Sara after drop off ends to help finish off the copies. Both also volunteer their time to help run so many events and have been vital to the PTO! Thank you, Sara and Kristian for all your hard work; we so appreciate you!
For the month of August, we would like to recognize Holly Nettles as the volunteer of the month! Holly is new to the Carter community but she quickly became engaged and has helped at many events including House Day, Slime the Teachers, the Glow Run, Boo Bash, the copy room and so much more! Thank you, Holly, for all your hard work; we are so glad you are here and we are grateful for all you do for the school!
For the month of September, we would like to recognize Elyssa LaRochelle as the volunteer of the month! Elyssa is also new to the Carter community but has become a real asset in the copy room and helping to set up/take down for events, including the Glow Run! We can’t thank you enough, Elyssa, for all your help and we are so glad you’re with us!
